This special issue of the IJDCR will focus on older workers in the workforce. There is no hiding the fact that our population is aging and that the proportion of older workers in the workforce is increasing as well. What this means for us as a society and more specifically what it means for us who work with organizations to help them maintain workers in employment or help them return-to-work post injury or illness, has not yet been full explored. This issue will begin the exploration process. This exploration will begin with the publishing of a paper written by a student in Disability Management, Mr. Todd McDonald, and myself. With this paper we hope to raise issues and begin the discussion. Several persons throughout the world have been asked to respond to this paper from their own personal context. These responses will be published. I will then incorporate these comments into a summary paper which will be posted on the journal website and you will then be asked to respond in an online discussion of the issues. This discussion will be open to all interested parties and will hopefully shed further light on this very important issue.
Thank you in advance for your participation and we look forward to hearing from you.
