Changes in Knowledge, Experiences, Needs and Feelings Following a Course of Sex Education for People with Mild Intellectual Disabilities

This study undertakes to determine if students with an intellectual disability enrolled in a formal sex education class at a local community college show any change in their knowledge, experience, feelings or needs following the delivery of a particular unit on dating and intimacy. Pre-and post-tests are administered to six participants. Results show that no statistical change takes place. However, analysis of the data does show that participants do have sexual knowledge and have generally positive experiences, feelings and needs in this area.
